A new beginning (with Cryogen)
A decade and a half ago, I created by old blog. My original intention was to write something as profound, as thought provoking and as entertaining as the writings of my my internet heroes, Paul Graham and Digitiser creator Mr Biffo. Please don’t judge me. The old blog ended up amounting to very little but provided a handy place for me to write about travels in far-flung hot places (where the posts would be eagerly consumed by my mum), to occasionally express my opinions about matters of little import and, very rarely, to write things - that no one would read - about tech.
Fast forward to 2011 and I bought this domain. I was heading to the first Silicon Milk Roundabout later that day and I thought that hosting a copy of my CV on my own domain would impress a potential employer or two. Whilst this proved to be wishful thinking, I’ve had the domain ever since and have done nothing with it.
Until now.
I started playing with the Cryogen static site generator and I’m rather enamoured with it. Not only is it written in Clojure (a language which I love and in which I have foolishly never allowed myself to be paid to write code), it seems to be sufficiently usable as to suit my limited attention span and talents.
So what’s the plan? I intend to write blog posts from time to time. Blogging is no longer cool and consequently there is no pressure to write anything worthwhile. Please come back soon and read whatever I decide to scribble down here. It is unlikely to be worthwhile.
